Area 2 Director announcement
USPSA Area 2 Director Jerry Wescott has resigned his position as Area 2 Director effective Aug. 1, due to his family moving outside of Area 2 for a career opportunity. Jerry has expressed thanks to the members of Area 2 and the Board of Directors for their support during this transition. President Mike Foley, and the Board of Directors, would like to thank Jerry for his service to USPSA and his work in the development of the USPSA in recent years. USPSA Life Member Danny Minter of Georgetown, California, has been appointed by President Foley as interim Area 2 Director, and will take office Aug. 1. Danny, who retired from law enforcement in California, comes to the position with years of constant experience in match production at levels 1 and 2, USPSA multi-gun experience, and RO experience at all levels including USPSA National Championships. Please join us in welcoming Danny, and thanking him for graciously accepting this appointment. Per the USPSA bylaws, a special election will take place for the remainder of the Area 2 Director's term ending Dec. 31, 2020. An accelerated election timeline per bylaw 6.2 is outlined below: Those who wish to run for Area 2 Director my request a nomination petition from USPSA's home office. The deadline for petition submission in this election is Aug. 31. Candidates may also submit an introduction to be published in USPSA's Front Sight Magazine, and other USPSA media channels by Sept. 1. Ballot notifications will be sent to eligible Area 2 members on Oct. 1, and voting will conclude on Nov. 1. If a runoff election is necessary, ballot notifications will be sent to eligible Area 2 members on Nov. 15, and voting will conclude on Dec. 15.
